Ben participated in his first Easter egg hunts last week. On Thursday, Ben's friends Mariasole and Margherita hosted playgroup and organized an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. I think that Ben tends to have more of my personality than his Dad's, but I definitely saw Carl's genes shine through on this day! All of the kids lined up in the back porch and then we let them loose at the same time. Ben was standing at the end of the line and he watched all of the kiddos run to the left, so he headed right. He had half the yard to himself while the other kids scrambled to get eggs on the other side. I'm sure he was carefully calculating this plan while waiting in line, something his Daddy would totally do!

Ben's good friends from the neighborhood were all here including Fischer (above)

On Saturday, we had a neighborhood-wide Easter egg hunt. After his first hunt, Ben discovered that the eggs actually contained little goodies. This new knowledge greatly slowed down his hunting pace on Saturday since he had to stop and open each egg (and maybe eat a jelly bean or 2!) before moving onto the next one!On Sunday, some of our friends from a different playgroup hosted a big baby shower for those of us who are pregnant. This is a pretty big playgroup and there are actually a few more expectant mommas who were unable to attend. Amy made a really cute cake that was also absolutely delicious. There's nothing like a big piece of cake to make a pregnant lady happy!
